Mike Petersen - P.E. Grades K-8

I am a 2nd degree black belt in the martial art form of Chinese Kempo Karate. This style is dedicated solely to physical fitness and self defense. I have instructed adults, children and preschoolers for over nine years, and opened my own school in Christiansburg five years ago. This is my fourth year serving as the P.E. teacher at Blacksburg New School. My major goal for the students is for them to learn and to appreciate a variety of physical activities for the sake of building strength and endurance — while minimizing the aspect of competition.
